Relax in our detached Guesthouse adjacent to bush at the rear of our home.

The Guesthouse has private parking & Digital Lock access. It has its own lounge with sofa bed, work station and buffet counter. There is a separate queen bedroom and ensuite with bidet.

Our home is semi-rural providing peace and starry night skies. Our location is convenient being only 5-10 minutes to Summerhill shopping centre, IPU & Massey Uni. It is only about 10 minutes to the city CBD.
The Guesthouse is detached from the main house.

It includes a living area with dedicated work space, sofa bed and 50” smart TV. Also included in the living area is a small buffet counter with chilled filtered water, kettle, microwave, fridge, toaster and dinnerware.

Move through into the large bedroom with stand alone wardrobe, large mirror, usb charging station, 43” smart TV and very comfortable and soft queen size bed.

The bedroom has its own ensuite with bidet toilet, large vanity with LED lit mirror, heated towel rail and large shower.

Enjoy a comfortable stay year round with the central heating and aircon system. Wall control pad located in the living room next to the bedroom door.

Guests have access to a private bush walk with a short loop track, with seating at the bottom. Enjoy the native plantings and birdlife throughout. We have many Harakeke Flax bushes around the property and when in flower are a favorite of the Tui (New Zealand Native Bird), we have Kereru (Native pigeon) visit the main bush area regularly and on a still night it’s highly likely you will hear Morepork/Ruru (Native Owl) in the bush or surrounding bush area. The area is still being planted, evolving and growing so is a constantly changing environment. Due to the nature of a natural bush environment, at all times but especially during wet weather, suitable footware is a must, along with a fair physical ability. Children must be monitored at ALL TIMES by the parents or caregivers when entering the bush area.

We have very little light pollution outside so on a clear night there are exceptional view of the night sky.

The guesthouse has electric blinds, fully wired with gigabit Ethernet for your plug-in computer use and Wifi 6 wireless access. Each TV has Apple TV attached and pre logged in for TVNZ on demand, ThreeNow, Netflix and YouTube for your enjoyment. Disney Plus and Neon are installed and are able to be logged in with your own account as required. A HDMI cable is provided with each tv, ready to connect additional devices into. The bedroom has a USB charging shelf along with USB ports beside the bedside tables.

BBQ and seating is available outside. This is weather dependant and please advise us ahead of time if you wish to use this so we can setup per visit. Enjoy a BBQ and seating in the Pergola, located between the Orchard and Bush walk, with views south down the Tararua Ranges.

We are a very family friendly, young family of 4 in the main house, with two grandparents living in a wing at the front of the property.

Your host family members are: Tristan, Heléne and Seb (Toddler) and Ellie (Infant) along with two friendly cats, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Mace Windu.

Our two cats will happily come and visit you in the guesthouse if you allow them to.

We are more than happy to engage with you when you’re here however if privacy is your preference we will respect that and we are available if you need any assistance. Access is via digital lock and you will have the code sent to you on day of arrival. Please be aware that we may be around in the grounds etc during your stay.

We are located 10 minutes by car from Palmerston North’s CBD.

Palmerston North (despite what people say!) is a very vibrant city with plenty of locations to visit and activities to do.

We have a very diverse dining culture with ample restaurants, cafes and coffee shops to choose from.

Local bush walks are all around the area within 5-10 minutes from our semi-rural location and further a field there is the mountain bike park located at the end of Kahutawara Valley Road, and the Manawatu Gorge bush walk. As well as entry points to DOC walking tracks/hiking trails in the Tararua and Ruahine Ranges.

As a family staying with us Palmerston North has plenty of local parks and other family activities to do within the city. We have Two go-kart facilities, Three Cinema locations, a very fun (summer only) Splash Pad, very engaging playgrounds and many many more activities we would be more than happy to suggest and discuss with you during your stay.

Within a 5 minute drive is the Summerhill
Shopping centre which includes a New World, local restaurants who offer Takeaways and a Cafe.

We are located 40~ minutes from the local beaches of Himatangi and Foxton.
